Oh well hey there Mr. Blog, it's been a while hasn't it? Long time no chat... well it seems we have met again. Okay let's forget the small talk, I will get straight to it, no more delaying things. No more putting it off... butwait, what shall I talk about? Oh I know, how about the moster that is vaccuming out souls across the world!? Oh wait, that is not nice. So I will not say what it is. I will et y'all make some assuptions. It is a good thing, for some, for others, it makes you miserable. In the wrong, sure, some of the aspects will help... university won't seem as hard, but this is what strikes me... what if you don't get in for it to even be easy? This is why I am dropping it, all of it, well maybe not one class. The point is not to crush your marks as a sumo wrestler would crush a little elf, but rather for the sumo to help the elf become a body builder so he will have a chance to survive in the world full of sumos, if ya know what I am saying. I will be a happier peson. I will. Sometimes I ponder if I am making the right decision when I am deciding this whole situation, but I feel rather that it is not a decision, but an exploration.
PS: All you folks should look up perfect day, by various artists. It was a BBC commercisl, and I really like it!

Hello Blog.
I havent blogged in a while since being swamped with exams and then not at home and then being busy all week so I figured I have some serious blogging to do. So the past few classes we have been talking about art. Good art versus bad art, what is art? etc. I think with visual art it is difficult because it so open to interpretation and everyone is going to have different opinions, but something that really grinds my gears is the whole name thing. When you see a work of art and you dont know who its by I think that is better because than prejudices dont influence your judgement. So many people will say ohh that isnt very good and then they find out it is a Picasso for example and then they are like ohhh I didnt mean that, it is good! But do they really think the art is good? No. They think that it must be good, if it is by someone famous. It is kind of like tht with music and theatre too, but I think it is easier to tell what is good and what is bad with those. If someone is a bad actor or singer you can tell right away. And if a composition is bad, you can tell based on the music, if the chords arent even chords and if there is no sense of rythym, it is bad music and that is that, much easier to distinguish than visual art.
That is all for now.
TTFN... Ta ta for now.

Ich finde keine Zeit zum Bloggen!
Translation: I cannot find time to blog! So Mr Wall I hope you appreciate this, even ever so slightly. So lately I have been learning some light German, partly because I am going on a vacation there nest year, and when I travel I like to know the language, also my family is VERY German, and also it is fun! Today I was watching Monday's episode of Big Bang Theory, and Sheldon said a German word '' Weltschmertz '' meaning the depression that occurs when comparing the world as it is to a hypothetical ideal world. It also reminded me of what Linnea said on Monday, which was essentially the same thing, just without the German word. And I remember that, but because I am a terrible person I cannot remember the topic of conversation when she compared whatever we were talking about to that. Oopsies! But I think it is very true. Can one ever truly be happy with their life when their expectation of life is unrealstic? But on the other hand, should one not hope for a better life and strive for such (in a healthy manner)? Just some food for thought. My brain has run out of thoughts for now.

Shouting Fire
So I recently watched a really good documentary called Shouting Fire: Stories from the Edge of Free Speech. It is all about free speech and it is really well done. There was one story that really struck me all about an arabic school in New York. New York public school system has many schools for languages for certain culture ie. Chinese, Japanese, etc. The school system had started to line up the opening of an Arabic school, they hired a female American-Arabic principal and the school was almost set to launch, some false facts were going around within the public that the school would not just be practicing the arabic language, but Muslim religion. This was not the case, but becasue of all the allegations, the school board postponed the opening and hired a new, white principle who cannot even speak arabic to communicate with new families to the country. Is this right? Another story was one of a pride day at a high school. The day was to support gays in their school. One teen boy wore a shirt with tape on it and written sharpie was a bible verse talking about how man and woman should be together, and on the other side of his shirt said that being gay was wrong. You may think, oh that is terrible of fim, especially no a pride day, but think, is he not just excerising his right to free speech? If you are going to support free speech, it must be from both sides even if you do not agree, or not at all.

You too can prevent the spread of swine flu!
So I basically think the whole swine flu thing has been blown wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out of proportion. I do think we should do what we can to prevent the spread of it, but that is like any flu or illness. I think as long as you keep healthy with lots of water and eat well and what not, you will be alright, you might get it but there is a chance anyone could. Dying from it is not common. I personally will not be getting the vaccination, I don't know if it is effective enough nor if I want a nice bruised arm thank you. But that is just my opinion and I am sticking to it, for now at least.
